PUBLICATIONS & PROGRAMMES

Over the last five years I've been involved in getting commissions and helping co-author, write and/or produce the local history projects listed below.

HERTFORDSHIRE THROUGH TIME

Hertfordshire Through Time contains delightful period photographs of the towns and villages in this historic county whose proximity to London ensured its evolution was strongly influenced by the Crown and the Capital. The contrasting modern colour pictures provide accessible and interesting insights into the many changes that have taken place over more than a century. The book also features extracts from a range of guidebooks and historical publications which appeared when the original pictures were taken.

BEDFORDSHIRE THROUGH TIME

Bedfordshire Through Time contains delightful period photographs of the towns and villages in this rural county sourced from Bedfordshire & Luton Archives & Records Service - many being published for the first time. The contrasting modern colour pictures provide accessible and interesting insights into the many changes that have taken place over decades. The book also features extracts from a range of guidebooks and historical publications which appeared when the original pictures were taken.

HODDESDON & BROXBOURNE THROUGH TIME

Co-author of these 3 books published in partnership with local museums. The contrasting contemporary colour illustrations and black and white pictures provide an accessible and interesting way of seeing the extraordinary changes that have taken place in these historic towns over the last century.

HODDESDON: A NOSTALGIA TRIP

This book takes readers on a ‘virtual tour’ of the old market town of Hoddesdon in East Hertfordshire which dates back to the Norman Conquest. It tells the stories of every building in the town centre - the individuals and families who lived and worked there, and the different businesses they housed over the centuries. In addition it is profusely illustrated with black and white period photos as well as nostalgic adverts from the 1930s - 1960s which have been taken from the pages of the town's free monthly newspaper: The Hoddesdon Journal.
